Kintsugi

This word denotes the Japanese technique used to repair broken ceramic with silver or gold. Behind, there's the concept that imperfections and wounds can become parts of an even superior shape of both outer and inner perfection. This kind of repair aims to emphatize the damage, instead of hiding it, making the damage itself an organic part of the repaired object, which finally becomes “newer than when it was new”.

A human being is, indeed, like a precious ceramic vase, which repairs each of its wound with fused gold. Every breath, every wound, every change of path, every interaction adds to experience, which will make this human being unique and impossible to duplicate.
Man lives Now as a result of Yesterday. Yesterday is just a moment ago, one breath before.

The songs of Kintsugi were written and produced between June 2015 and August 2016. They show the inner pathway of two people, Mirka and Francesco; the red line connecting them is the road to the exploration of the inner self. Lyrics are inspired by the first part of C. G. Jung's “Liber Novus”, projected on everyday's life situations. Reflections and experimentations from the deepest parts of mind and soul, along with their effects on the conscious self.

Kintsugi is a thick, pitch black matter. Light expands and finds its own way through the cracks, getting its own meaning in opposition to darkness, in the same way that darkness gets its own meaning when opposed to light itself.
